Gaya CAC is directed by American wood-firing ceramic artist Hillary Kane, together with a passionate team of ceramic enthusiasts who help run the studio in Ubud.
Founded in 2010 by Marcello Massoni, Michela Foppiani and Hillary Kane, the Gaya Ceramic Arts Center is the educational branch of Gaya’s production and design studio. The two studios operate independently while maintaining a supporting symbiosis that benefits clients, participants and employees alike. Set in a spacious open-air, old wood studio, it is dedicated to the fine art of clay in all its nuances.
We provide high-level ceramic arts instruction through international workshops, Fundamentals in Clay courses, independent studio rental, artist residencies and studio internships. The team actively practises ceramics, continually advancing their own skills, and hosts an annual Empty Bowls fundraiser supporting local charities.
